Two giants talking about a fresh way of composing music. Gotta love those early synth sounds.

That’s probably what he’s going to say at The Academy Awards tonight when he recieves his Oscar for the best supporting role… Long time since I saw somebody play a character so well…
The good old Boombox was the iPod of the 80’s. The shinier the better, and preferably loads of buttons to equalize the sound. Mine was ok, but a friend had the Sharp GF 777, so you will understand that he was underground king in our small town.

But.. ohhhhhohhhhhooohhh

An oldie but still strong: Spike Jonze’s Ikea commercial from 2005. It gives me the same feeling I got from those sad xmas trees. But this little film helps me snap out of it.

A terrible interviewer asks Ian Brown stupid questions about martial arts and other irrelevant stuff. Brown gets annoyed and ends the interview with a great line in pure Madchester slang: “Do you want knocking out from here or shall I come over there?”
Brilliant, but damn, look at that face. Boose and dope made him look 30 years older I guess.
Got tipped by my friend KRD about this small docu from 1991 about De Familie Knok (The Rambler Family). A family which terrorised almost the whole village of Oosterhout. Great footage of a valium pills popping, heavy drinking, Ritalin using, modern outlaw family who feared nobody and intimidated everybody around them. With verve.
Put the greatest synthesizer gurus of the eighties together and you’ll get digital orgasms like this. If you combine this video of Thomas Dolby, Herbie Hancock, Howard Jones, and Stevie Wonder with some Kraftwerk you’ll get the inspiriration source for a sketch by one of the greatest sketch shows on earth.

Everybody who knows youtube, knows this man. The Techno Viking was filmed by Matthias Fritsch, and this ultimate viral generated over 20.000.000 clicks. Fritsch did a small exhibition about this internet phenomenon, called: Technoviking Archive, with one of the most funniest remakes:

Found this interview with Shaun Ryder and Bez from The Happy Mondays, the band that was leading the Madchester scene in the late 80’s. They were like kind of idols to me. Drugs, hooliganism, booze, Acid House, being lame and dropping out from school were the tings that mattered that time. Luckily time does change…
I whish I could be him!
Is what Beavis meant with Tee Pee. Hilarious compilation.
Perfectly visualised in this compilation of one of the greater movies of all time: Once upon a time in the West, by Sergio Leone. Originally with the music of Ennio Morricone. But this version with The Arcade Fire’s “My body is a cage” is one of the best fan vids I’ve seen on the web.
Type normally was a static thing. Not anymore! You now easliy can glide from bold to thin and backwards.

I really think this family doesn’t understand how deadly funny they are. This is truely classic material. Hail to youtube.

Some 700 people are living in Las Vegas sewers nowadays. They came to Sin City dreaming of slot machines spitting out piles of gold coins but that didn’t really work out that way, obviously. They now survive by searching ‘forgotten money’ on those machines.

Have a jolly good weekend!
Reminds me of a situation when I was young and had to choose between 10 dimes or a dollar coin as my weekly allowance. I remember sitting there a couple of hours. Don’t remember which I chose. Haha, I probably have still have the same problem.

And Paul Mawhinney is the owner of that collection.
Have a nice weekend!

Quite a hype these days on internet are these literal versions of songs and their video clips. Came across this Bonnie Tyler song and it’s the best I’ve heard so far. I assume it must take ages for the creators to complete these versions because they have to laugh their asses off doing it I’m guessing.
