I am not afraid of snakes. I remember being like 10 years old when my father was picked out of the audience at an indoor snake show in a Zoo somewhere. He had to hold two giant pythons around his neck who crawled in his shirt and all. He was asked to play being strangled by them and he had to fall on the floor to raise some panic amongst the audience. The only thing I felt was ashamed of my dad’s acting. No, It’s spiders that make me jump on tables.

These are photo’s of dead mental patients. Cremated ones in copper cannisters, to be more clear.
The photo’s, called Library of Dust, are made by David Maisel. Here’s what he has to say about it:
“Over time . . . the canisters have begun to react chemically with the human ashes held inside them; this has thus created mold-like mineral outgrowths on the exterior surfaces of these otherwise gleaming cylinders.”
and
“. . . each canister holds a corpse – reduced to dust, certainly, burnt to handfuls of ash, sharing that cindered condition with much of the star-bleached universe, but still cadaverous, still human. What strange chemistries we see emerging here between man and metal. Because these were people; they had identities and family histories, long before they became nameless patients, encased in metal, catalytic.”

Simple and clean way to visualize ingredients for your homemade cookies. The images become abstract paintings.
Btw, I eat those kanelbullar (pic nr 4) a lot, my wife is a master in baking those.
(Thanks Fina!)
Actually my wife and I are looking for a dog. But our future family member isn’t among these if I’m honest.
Nice photo’s by Torkil Gudnason though.

Photo project by Gustavo Germano.
Yeah, well Gustavo, it sure looks nice and all, but thanks a lot for reminding us again that we’re all gonna die.
Dr. Aubrey the Grey should just work a little bit harder…

Despite they remind me of Bob Ross a bit, these images by Kim Asendorf sure look beautiful.

Not my mom’s friends, but Elena Chernyak’s mom’s friends.
Interesting photo project. Wonder how her mom’s friends see themselves in these pictures. Arty? Kitchy? Hot?

Congratulations Erin! Read the interview with her.
Nuff said.
Photo’s taken by Dave Mead for the 2009 World Beard & Mustache Championships. I once posted something about a beardfolio that is also fun to watch, if you into facial hair at all.
