with these new frames on my wall. An original Martha Cooper print, thanks a million Dave Kingdom! And a photo print from a series of Icelandic banana ads from the 70’s. Thank you so much Sigga Stina!
Pete Postlethwaite, the man who played Mr. Kobayashi as the right hand of Keyser Sose in the movie Usual Suspects, died yesterday at the age of 64. That character was kind of the inspiration for the name of my blog. Pete Postlethwaite was a gifted actor and had one of the friendliest faces I’ve ever seen. R.I.P.
Happy Holidays my friends!
Behold the future of fashion.
Or is it already here? Like one of the comments says: This is Kansas 2010.
(Thanks Michiel!)
As promised, you would be my 900th post!
Please do me a favor and tag yourself and your friends!
Thank you all so much for listening. Thanks Wout for doing the presentation and thanks Rik and Dennis for inviting me. Am so sorry I couldn’t be there on time myself, because I got stuck at the Irish bar next door, where the pints of Guinness were just tasting too good… :-P
Cheers!

See y’all there!
Yes! It’s friday and we wish you all a very good weekend from Sweden. From the blue marks on the image, to be more precise.
Going to get us some Pripps Blå tonight with some lovely looking Swedish blondes who look just a little bit cuter then these.
Cheers!
We are very honored that Archibald Kobayashi has been asked to be one of the speakers at Pecha Kucha Night Breda, december 2nd.
So, if you’re interested in some of Archie’s secrets, please come and join, It’s for free.
(Thanks Rik!)
Is the name of one of a set amazing contemporary sculptures created by Dewar & Gicquel.
Personally I like the Carl Cox the most. How he just is relaxing there at the side of that forest road…

Niklas Roy invented a smart curtain to stop people from peeking in.

Benoit Mandlebrot has died.
For the ones knowing fractals only as early acid house VJ material, I put up a video where the good man himself explains the form. Also because I really cannot explain it myself.
But pfew, glad it’s hygienic at Auntie Aggie’s.
(Thanks Vio!)
You know sometimes when you get back home from something that was so good, you feel all nostalgic and you so want to go back and all that sort of things. You might even consider living there. I have that feeling now.
That dude in the clip describes it perfectly, Iceland (Airwaves) and its people are just special. You gotta go see it.
We saw some great shows again this year, to name a few: Hercules and Love affair, Moderat, Mount Kimbie, Everything Everything, Gablé, Efterklang , Junnip and the list goes on and on.
Tiny sculptures by Isaac Cordal.

Here they are, the lectures of Matt Mason and Rob Scholte at the Pirate Coneference at Incubate this year. Both very inspiring, so very worth while watching.
Afterwards we went out with mr. Mason for ‘a few’ beers and a some dance moves. Great guy!
The master of tattoo put some flying objects on my old chest.
Always nice to be there and have good talks about things like Hip Hop, spirituality, science and Hemaworstje, of whom we are big fans (Hope you read it Hema!).
It’s over. Tilburg’s best week of the year has come to an end again. We’re more dead then alive but we are smiling. Incubate festival has shown again that smallness can be greater then great. Over 200 acts, a few thousand visitors from all over the world in a small and compact city like ours are the ideal ingredients for an intimate, one of a kind atmosphere. Thank you Incubate.
Our higlights? Here we go:
Sunday:
Seeing my friend and employee Wout Withagen next to Charles Leadbeater in a panel discussion. We help Incubate, Incubate helps us. Thanks guys.
Monday:
Zola Jesus. Support act of Fever Ray. You know when you see a band that will soon come above ground. This was one of them.
Tuesday:
Neon Indian. Same story. What a band.
Wednesday:
Rest…
Thursday:
- Deejaying old school hip hop at the Incubate opening.
- Heavy Metal Bowling (although I’m going to skip that one next year, hangover wise).
Friday:
- Pirate conference with keynote speaker and bestseller Matt Mason and famous Dutch artist Rob Scholte, both very inspiring lectures.
- Frank Fairfield. Bought his record.
- Going around town with Matt Mason and my friends.
- Pounding beats from Hank Shocklee from Bomsquad.
Saturday:
- Bikes, German surfpunk band.
- Cirkle, crazy Finnish band combining opera and metal.
- Bram Stadhouders, Sidsel Endresen & Jim Black. Great improv music.
- Gunslingers. Insane garage rock.
- Having a funny moment with old Tresor hero Neil Landstrumm.
