“Say it loud! I love rap and I’m proud!” Hardcore B-Boying by the inventor of gansta rap, Schoolly D, from the time when we were backspinnin’ on cartboard on the Heuvel. A tip for Incubate 2010 maybe? I promise you Joost, I will break some dance again ; )
Yes, they will ride again, the DJ knights from Smalltown Underground. The party organisation which set foot on earth midway the nineties and was put to sleep a couple of years ago will show its skills another time. Legendary DJ’s Kid Lama, Romain, Rocco and our own Katarie will rock the 013 Café Lounge all night long on friday the 30th of October during Klub Tilt: Berlin Schwung. This fresh Tilburg based party crew are going german style this edition with the great Kollektive Turmstrasse as headliner.
Note Archibald Kobayashi is sponsoring Klub Tilt, Katarie is DJing there and me, Seacaptain Plonk E is responsible for their designs.
Note 2 Yes, its Ingo Oszkinat you see with his tie in the beautiful Hässelblad picture, shot by our Fina.
(Thanks Evert!)
Some 700 people are living in Las Vegas sewers nowadays. They came to Sin City dreaming of slot machines spitting out piles of gold coins but that didn’t really work out that way, obviously. They now survive by searching ‘forgotten money’ on those machines.
(Thanks Vio!)
But this picture strongly reminds me of this movie scene.
“You motorboating son of a bitch! You old sailor you!”
Have a jolly good weekend!
Reminds me of a situation when I was young and had to choose between 10 dimes or a dollar coin as my weekly allowance. I remember sitting there a couple of hours. Don’t remember which I chose. Haha, I probably have still have the same problem.
(Thanks Vio!)
Hi everybody. We’re awake again. The last week or so we didn’t find time to fill up the empty spaces here. Why? Because we were at the most wonderful and best festival of The Netherlands of which we are proud sponsors: Incubate.
We didn’t think it could be a better edition then last year. Wrong. Greater bands, greater atmosphere, greater peoples.
Over 250 acts in 7 days. Offcourse too little time to see everything, because you simply cannot attend every venue at every time. But thàt is just the beauty of it. You read yourselve into te program better, you have to make choices and aftwerwards you may listen to the stories of people who went to see the other stuff. It’s one big chaotic sharing thing and that feels great.
So, here are some things we loved: Hermann Nitsch, Soap & Skin, Hauschka, Future of the Left, Silver Pyre, Joker, Incubate Innovation Lecture, TV Buddhas, Uri Caine, Mad Professor, Tyree Cooper, Die!Die!Die!, Body Bill, Rummelsnuff, Aluk Todolo, James Blackshaw, Heavy Metal Bowling and Masshysteri.
Thanks Joost, Thanks Vince and thanks Frank. You know you have gold in your hands. We miss it already.
That Geoff Blumenthal here thinks he will create a wormhole to another galaxy by putting a stapler in his mouth, two edding markers in his nose, a pencil in each earhole and two Agfa film containers in front of his eyes. Rumours go that he is sitting there for quite a while now.
If you think you have a better story, please share.

That is what we’re goin’ to do, one month from now.
But first: Incubate!
What does the combination sex, plane style clothing and some use of helvetica do? It sells. To me at least. Hammana! Hammana! Go check ‘m all!

A documentary about a photo of a man jumping from the twin towers during 9/11. The film is a quest to identify the person on the picture. Heavy stuff but a must to see.
And they will know it! Hail to the ones responsable for this action.

That is probably the only thing you càn say when the latest photos of the Hubble telescope come rolling in through the fax machine.
(Thanks Evert & Vio!)
Ooohhhh yeah! With Incubate coming up and Tyree Cooper djing there its hipperdyhiphouse and other early Chicago sounds through the speakers these days.

Isn’t it?

We think Austrian Erwin Wurm is one the greatest contempory artists of this time. Works with great sense of humor and dryness.
