Something wrong with this image? A nice treasure of photoshop disasters on this blog. (Thanks Wolzibolt)
Last tuesday we saw Horizon (BBC), our favourite tv show. This episode was about the progress of making nuclear fusion the new energy. In a few words: scientists are trying to create star power here on earth. When they will nail that, there will be enough clean power forever.
The thing is that they are actually really close. Lets say 30 years from now there will never be any pollution or whatsoever and the world wil be a place with green, unlimited power sources for eternity. So please don’t stress out too much about polar bears dying out and stop living too ‘green’ because a) it wont’t help for shit and b) it’s a total waste of time.
A series of plain Lego forms that made a person think of NYC.
It made us dream of The Big Apple too, because we will be there this thursday! Archibald and some of his team will stay in the Roosevelt Hotel on Madison Avenue and 45th street untill monday. So coming blogposts will have a New York taste too it and we will then also create our first ever podcast for Radio Kobayashi together with Bakker Wolzibolt! So stay tuned…
Compared to the post below this one, this ad costs probably zero dollars and is a gazilion times more creative. Simple and funny.
Pepsi has a new logo. It’s made by Arnellgroup and costs 1,3 million dollars and it’s designed with some kind of scientific approach. Does anybody really care?
One of the greatest clubs on this planet, The End in London, closed his doors this january after many years. The club with the exceptional dj booth has been a ground for the best dj’s in the world to spin their records. In this closing video you see footage of the final night and you hear staff and dj’s talking about the good times that lay now behind them.
…is a guy with a beard and glasses.
So true.. So true..
What a grand nightstand that guy has.
Our friends at ZXZW threw their whole hebben en houwen on the street. Think Open Wiki 2.0 Social Festival twitter. In other words, they made their whole business model transparant through internet: “With this development the organization asks input of everyone who feels committed to the festival.” So, feel free to contribute!
Every graphic designer sometimes wonders what kind of neat typeface it is they see on, for instance, a poster. Here’s the answer: Fontshuffle. An iPhone app that contains a whole font catalogue that solves the problem described above.
But what a perfect little piece of film.
Not only nice street art but also a great photo.
This robot, installed at the 3d International Biennial of Contemporary Art in Seville, writes down the whole bible. “The machine draws the calligraphic lines with high precision. Like a monk in the scriptorium it creates step by step the text.” Great to see how two extremes of today (religion and science) are brought together. (Thanks LouLou!)
Paula Scher, designer of tons of record sleeves and, for instance, the CitiBank logo, talks about the fun in design. It starts pretty slow but it becomes actually quite interesting with visual examples and all. About seriousness against solemness. Just watch it.
La force de silencieuse… Great ‘futuristic’ commercial with great special effects and sounds.
“17 years worth of taking 2 photos a day as my head rotates in sync with the Earth around the Sun. This is a non-dejittered, lo-res, highly compressed, preliminary version of a lifetime project. Later versions will have additional imagery throughout” Nice.
By Mr. Fingers aka Larry Heard. This 1987 Chicago House masterpiece was one of the tracks that took house music to another level. Our new best track ever.
