The Designers Republic Is Dead

Well known and much copied design firm The Designers Republic closed their doors after 23 years. DR’s Ian Anderson: “We’d lost a couple of clients, didn’t win a couple of pitches, got a tax bill which should have been sorted out and wasn’t and a major client who didn’t pay the money they owed us – in themselves any of those things would have been fine but when they come all at once there’s not much you can do.”

We remember going to Hasselt (Belgium) with a mini van some 5 years back to view their exposition when they still were a blooming studio. Shame…

Goddamn, those guys made some great work. Loved the expo in Hasselt. Had a lot of fun in the minivan :) And we can always enjoy their work when we play wipeout on the nintendo 64.
